Melanie graduated with her Associates in Science and her Physical Therapist Assistant degree in 1996 from Suffolk Community College in New York. Her interest in Physical Therapy began when her mother encouraged her to volunteer at a local hospital. She immediately knew she wanted to play a role in helping people reach their physical and wellness goals through physical therapy. After working as an PT aide for several years until graduating high school, she decided to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. She’s spent over 14 years in orthopedic rehabilitation where she treated patients with a variety of orthopedic, neurological, sports, and spinal conditions. The rest of her career has been spent in subacute rehab where she enjoyed working with older adults to improve their ability to perform activities of daily living and reduce their risk for falls through gait and balance exercises. Melanie is fluent in Spanish and speaks some Italian and in her spare time she loves traveling with her husband.
